Yep, I'm waiting on the delivery of my Kindle Fire today. Well, technically I'm at work and my son is waiting for the delivery, as he is off today, but lets not split hairs.

PDF's have been around for some time, but they are not well suited for running a game. EPubs offer a different experience. I can stand up, show images, lay it down to show a map, listen to background music, roll dice, access applications that have indexed the rules nicely (thank you iTunes for PFR), set up and track initiative, etc. all in one tool.
ReplyDeleteIn essence I believe that running a game from one device, sans backpacks full of heavy ass books is great. I know that my partner and I are looking for ways to increase the usability of our products through ePubs. We believe ePubs to be the as yet untapped future tool for GM's once tablets have soaked into the market.
I'd like to hear back from you on how the Kindle Fire would fare as an all-in-one GM tool such as I've described.
