Deletethe release date for A&A was Nov 2012 - which woudn't be all that distressing if Mike hadn't managed to piss away the fund to three Kickstarters with nothing to show for it.
The Doom That Came to Atlantic City had a due date that was also due in Nov 2012 and also pissed away the majority of it's funds for nothing to show for it (much more funds in the case of Doom)
Both have one major thing in common - the project creators decided to use the money to create full pledged companies before they produced the promised products
THAT's what I don't get. What does "create full fledged companies" mean? Were they hiring staff? Renting offices? Hiring advertising agencies? Getting health insurance? What did they DO with all that money? (Tattoos and convention planning doesn't really fall under the umbrella of forming a company.)

ReplyDeleteYeah, I thought Mike might be on track when he finally posted a draft of Axes & Anvils, and I was thinking of leaving an encouraging comment. And then he posts this. It's not as pathetic as Erik Chevalier trying to make himself as the only victim in the The Dooom...Atlantic City saga, but it's close.
DeleteI give Mike credit for accepting that he's deserved criticism, but using a project update to respond to this was asinine. I really don't want to hear Mike defend himself from what he thinks are unfair attacks. That's for him to deal with.
I appreciate that you shared my blog post, but I'm a little surprised you did because I don't think it was written very eloquently. I thought the comparison was interesting and I thought I might ruffle some feathers with Mike and his doting fanbase, but I didn't expect him to write an update on his kickstarter since more popular blogs (like your) have complained about him and he's never squeaked a peep.
