I came home today to find my print copy of
Ambition & Avarice waiting for me. Good stuff, especially as I've been involved in playtesting the system pretty much since it's earliest version.
Even better, the layout is nice and clean. Sure, I knew that from the PDF version, but it's still nice to see it in print ;)
Definitely a HUGE improvement over the layout of the last couple products shown on this blog. I like the cat as well!
ReplyDeleteLooks great--can't wait for my copy.
ReplyDeleteYou bribe your cat with food than use it as a book stand.
ReplyDeleteNice.
Looks nice.
ReplyDeleteI wish it was as easy as it seems in your pictures to take pictures of our cats. I'd also appreciate it if they'd stay under my books, instead of walking over them or deciding that open books make good pillows, while I'm reading ^^'
Mine is coming. I discovered this thank to YOU and devoured the PDF and absolutely love it. I can't WAIT to try it out, though I'm not sure when I'll get the chance. (Currently running a BFRPG game in Stonehell. I wonder how well the group would react to me saying "new rules! same game!".) I might just have to start a new group.
ReplyDeleteI have so many OSR games, just bought the LotFP hardcover players book ... really wasn't looking for more to spend my money on ... but 5 strong reviews and a perfect 5 star rating on RPGNow has caught my attention and $12 is cheap ... damn ... damn ... damn. And, thanks!
ReplyDeleteYou know what would make that layout better? A moire pattern behind the text.
ReplyDeleteI'm telling you, throw in glossy paper and you've got a winner.
Thanks for turning me on to Ambitions and Avarice ... it's the best OSR RPG that I've bought this year ... maybe ever.
