The Swords & Wizardry Complete PDF Goes FREE When the The Lost Lands: Sword of Air Kickstarter Hits 400 Backers

I got the following email this morning from The Frogs regarding The Lost Lands Kickstarter:
When we get to 400 backers, we're going to post the Swords & Wizardry Complete rules pdf (only) for free. Forever. PDF download only.
Yeah, we're doing that!
+Skeeter Green then clarified the above statement
Just so we are clear: this is not a backer-only gift. This is the Kickstarter pledgers giving a "gift" to rpgers everywhere. This unlocks the pdf for everyone, forever.
Look at that. We can actually Kickstart the Swords & Wizardry Complete rules in PDF to everybody :)

Currently at 320 backers with 25 days to go - this will be happening, and possibly before my "B-Team" plays their first session of the "Southern Reaches of the Wilderlands" using S&W Complete.

Not too shabby ;)

    1. I know Matt Finch has been looking to get his child into more hands for a while now, and this is a great way to do it :)

  3. I'm pleased that we were able to get to the free price point, and it's actually going to cost us in foregone revenues, but it's a matter of giving back to the gaming community. I never liked that the financial model of royalties kept us from being able to make this free in the first place, but you have to do what you have to do. 400 backers and we detach all the strings to just make it free.

The full artwork version, not an art-free one.

    1. It is my OSR ruleset of choice - one steady campaign just started, and a once a month or so pick up group of sorts in the same setting kicking off next month :)

  5. I love that cover - one of the best in the OSR in my opinion.

  6. I understand that Kickstarters are all about funding projects...but $110 for the dead tree version is too high for me.

    1. If it's anything like Rappan Athuk or Tome of Horrors complete, then it's going to be 500-600 pages or thereabouts; big enough to thow it and kill a person. Spendy, but I've never been disappointed by a Frog God Games product yet.
