I recently asked my patrons what posts deserved a sequel and Tower in the
Wasteland was one of the first replies. So here's an updated version of

Looks fine to me. Cleaner than every map I've ever drawn.
ReplyDeleteLooks rather handsome to me.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry about. I once drew a map that was so bad... I was embarrassed, by myself. You know how weird that is, solitary embarrassment?
ReplyDeleteI also feel it every time I watch that Xena musical... (not the dramatic one, the "comedic" one, suffice to say, it is bad.)
Edward Lockhart, get out of my head and stop stealing my life!
DeleteSeriously though, that was the first time I've ever been getting ready to leave a comment and seen someone else write the same damned thing ahead of me. Weird.
Surely not the Xena part, though...
DeleteI must have rolled a "1" to find secret doors, because I see it.
ReplyDeleteVery nice. I find that hex paper, a pencil, a ruler and enough beer to make the ruler necessary, are the backbones of my map making skills.
ReplyDeletebeer came after - I had to jump when I realized Ashley had left her perch ;)
Deletedamn, i should have named it "Crypt of Some Young Guy", but that's the beer talking ;)
Yeah, your thatching sucks. Mine is worse. I have to shade in around it. But some guy's crypt looks like a perfect micro adventure...it would be perfect for a certain zine...hint hint.
ReplyDeleteyours for the asking Tim
DeleteAh, the crosshatching isn't that bad. It's kinda cute in fact. Endearing.
ReplyDeleteat least Brett didn't call it 'cute', Erik.
ReplyDeleteOh wait, yes he did. :)
DeleteLooks like the paper is just about the right size for the little mini-barrows for the random generator in Barrowmaze II.
ReplyDeleteI like your cross-hatching. You needn't use Dyson's style, although he's the king of cross-hatching. Read some drawing tutorials and go experimenting - there's lots of cross-hatching techniques for drawing that can be used for dungeons also. Keep up the hand-drawn...well...drawing :)
