Judges Guild has a City State of the Invincible Overlord Kickstarter to Update the Original


Judges Guild is going to rerelease City State of the Invincible Overlord via Kickstarter and +Rob Conley doing some of the maps?

Holy sh!t! Where do I sign up?

Seriously, this is damn cool and I already signed up, although only for the soft cover book and map - so I have the cash available to add new maps as stretch goals are hit - and they will be. Oh, they will be...


Alright, enough of me fanboi-ing.

Actually, not enough yet. This is dreamy ;)

    Well dang if I'd have known they were gonna do this I might have thought twice about releasing the Guidebook to Dolmvay! This is going to be a cool project. Can't wait to back it on pay day.

      Well, I'm glad you didn't. It's great seeing new stuff, as opposed to retreads.

      This has been done, what, 5 times now?

      Original version. Mayfair version. Original version reprint. 3.5 version from Necromancer. And now this, Pathfinder version.

      And then of course, the inevitable D&D Next version in 2-3 years.

      I don't think Mayfair was even related, just a name cop. However, I own the CSIO, CSIO Revised, the Necromancer as well as Wilderlands of High Fantasy, Wilderlands for 3.5 and Majestic Wilderlands for Swords & Wizardry. Oh, and some Castles & Crusades stuff released for Wilderlands. It's one of my favorite settings, but now to the point these books ask have separate uses. The JG versions are raw information and pay tools, the Necromancer Games releases are a nice presentation for overview and quick reference, and the Majestic Wilderlands is like an alternate Universe. I don't know if they intended it that way but they all work very well together, and aren't just rehashes EXCEPT the d20 CENSORED version with no random hookers, that one was a reprint for an inferior rules system with PC adjustments and can go f*** itself.

    GREAT news! Any news on whether they will also do a new release of the Wilderlands Boxed set? As this kickstarter seems to include all 18 wilderlands campaign maps - as stretch goals - but no info from the Wilderlands booklets?

    As one who desires only pdfs of book+stretch goal maps and no physical goods, their reward structure is sort of frustrating. Still not sure if I'm going to back it or not.
