Someone uploaded the D&D 5e Basic Rules to Lulu last week. They were only up for a day or so, but I snagged a copy while they were there.
All I can say is this: WotC should seriously consider putting up an at cost POD option for the D&D Basic Rules at the DnDClassics storefront. This is a much more table friendly version than the PDF.
I printed it out and had it spiral bound locally, but that looks pretty. I wonder if it will change very much in the next few months, though, since it says "Version 0.1" on the front.
The main rulebooks are more like advanced D&D. The basic rules will still hold there own and have a purpose even if you have the main books. It's also much cheaper for players to print off a copy of the free rules than buy their own PHB's.
All I can say is that I ran the first game of my new D&D5 campaign Wednesday night and flipping through the pdf on my tablet to find rules and references was a hugh pain in the butt. I would have loved to have one of those hard copies but sadly, I got to the link too late.
Give WotC time. Basic D&D is not finished until the MM and DMG portions are released and then combined into one awesome unholy whole. If they see the interest I will be they offer up a print version sometime early next year.....or that's what I'm hoping, anyway.
