Giving Away Two Keys to the New Computer RPG - Pillars of Eternity - Comment, Friend... and Enter
"Eternity aims to recapture the magic, imagination, depth, and nostalgia of classic RPG's that we enjoyed making - and playing. At Obsidian, we have the people responsible for many of those classic games and we want to bring those games back… and that’s why we’re here - we need your help to make it a reality!
Eternity will take the central hero, memorable companions and the epic exploration of Baldur’s Gate, add in the fun, intense combat and dungeon diving of Icewind Dale, and tie it all together with the emotional writing and mature thematic exploration of Planescape: Torment."
So, I've got 2 Steam keys for Pillars of Eternity to give away thanks to an extremely generous patron of The Tavern. They will work on Windows, OS X and Linux.
How do you get into the mix?
Comment on this blog post. Sometime on Saturday morning I'll be randomly picking two commenters to receive these free keys.
So, what are you waiting for? You know you want this :)
(these are $45 retail)
Behold, I comment upon this post!
ReplyDeleteAnd lo, there were two comments...
ReplyDeleteThanks! Another great Tavern giveaway! (Thanks to all the sponsors, too!)
ReplyDeleteI have beheld your behold and I seek the prize for my own tribe!
ReplyDeleteYe Gadz! A veritable treasure!
ReplyDeleteNice!! thanks for doing this!!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome!! Thanks a lot! :)
ReplyDeleteTenkar's Tavern is a must read on my RSS reader! Thanks for posting and hosting these fun contests!
ReplyDeleteInterviewed these guys at GenCon and played a demo of it last year. It looks like an amazing spiritual successor to BG!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I'd love a new game that is not WoW for my MacOS
ReplyDeleteIn the words of the Orcs... " 'ere we go, 'ere we go, 'ere we go."
ReplyDeleteRight on!
ReplyDeletePlease please please. I need games for my Linux
ReplyDeleteCount me in!
ReplyDeleteYes, please!
ReplyDeleteHopefully winning something for the first time.
ReplyDeleteI too would like to take a stab.
ReplyDeletehmm....looks like it ate my previous comment. So here's another!
ReplyDeleteI'm the gatekeeper, are you the key master?
ReplyDeleteI thought the Orcs said, "Where there's a whip, there's a way..." Oh, wait...
ReplyDeleteMy wife would kill me if I won!
ReplyDeleteHappy soon to be Friday!
ReplyDeleteMany thanks!
ReplyDeleteIt would make me squee if I won.
ReplyDeleteOooh, Oooh, Pick me, Pick me!
ReplyDeleteVery cool.
ReplyDeleteI would love to get a key for this game.
ReplyDeleteThis better not be a trick Erik, last time it was to some weird porn site.
ReplyDeleteyeah yeah - shit, reminds me to remind the team there's a game tomorrow night...
DeleteA CRPG in the style of the Black Isle games of old? Count me in!
ReplyDeleteI'm in. Thanks for the opportunity.
ReplyDeleteDid someone say weird porn site?
ReplyDeleteHere's my comment. Will I win? Who knows.
ReplyDeleteI do hereby comment in the hopes of being a 'chosen one'. ;)
ReplyDeletePost! Obsidian has a great track record when it comes to RPGs.
ReplyDeleteI don't think my wife would approve, but count me in anyway.
ReplyDeletewant it! :)
ReplyDeleteObligatory contest entry post!
ReplyDeleteOne for me as well, please.
ReplyDeleteLorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua.
ReplyDelete:)
I've always enjoyed Obsidian games.
ReplyDeleteMy wife would love to give this a try, so feel free to put both of us in her good graces forever. :)
ReplyDeleteI, herein referred to as The Guy Who Is Making This Comment, do at present write this comment in an honest and heartfelt effort to obtain the means to go medieval-fantasy on Pillars of Eternity's figurative ass. For it has, by all currently available evidence, a very nice ass indeed.
ReplyDeleteThat is quite the give away. Count me in.
ReplyDeleteHotcha!
ReplyDeleteFriend. (I'm not making the mistake Gandalf made; you can' t fool me with your unnecessary commas.)
ReplyDeleteWant!
ReplyDeleteI shall throw my hat in the ring...
ReplyDeleteI don't want the game since i don't play video games but am commenting to ask what the game is about? The title and your brief "description" give me no clue. Never heard of Balder's Gate or Icewind Dale either so the comparisons mean nada
ReplyDeleteI haven't played a computer game in ages but this looks fun. I hope it is turned based!
ReplyDeleteThis comment <-- right here. Pick this one.
ReplyDeleteVery cool! I've been hyped for this game for a long time
ReplyDeleteMy son will be so surprised if I win a key. Matt, it's like playing D&D in which there are invisible walls that keep you on one of the intended paths in the module, but with some freedom to the order you do stuff, side quests you can ignore, etc. Instead of other players, you collect NPC followers with programmed personalities and can make moves for all of them, or leave it to the AI.
ReplyDeleteThanks
DeleteThis is where my comment goes.
ReplyDeleteMy wife's seventh 29th birthday is coming up. I sure hope I win this so I don't have to pretend to want a divorce, move out a week before, and then reconcile afterwards in order to avoid buying her a present. Again.
ReplyDeleteI missed the kickstarter so getting a Steam key would be awesome.
ReplyDeleteThat looks very cool: somehow I missed out on that Kickstarter entirely.
ReplyDeleteComment...
ReplyDeleteComment...
ReplyDeleteAnother awesome giveaway! Thanks mate! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat, count me in.
ReplyDeleteI've been really looking forward to playing this game.
ReplyDeleteI would certainly enjoy getting a key for this title! Awesome you are doing another giveaway.
ReplyDeleteTorment *sigh* Such nostalgia.
ReplyDeleteHere is my entry. good luck everyone.
ReplyDeleteGood luck everyone!
ReplyDeleteThis should be great game. Good luck to everyone.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate that this is another fine game that runs in Linux!
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome! And you are running a great blog!
ReplyDeleteLooks to be a great game, please enter me as well.
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway! I was really kind of bummed out when the Seven Dragon Saga kickstarter was cancelled and then Pillars launched. It looks like such an amazing game and I loved the games it's based on. Hopefully my name comes up when you do the drawing!
ReplyDeleteThat's really cool! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteOh majestic Balkar's Tavern, home of glorious posts (and cool giveaways)!
ReplyDeleteHere's my two cents.
ReplyDeleteI barely have time for any computer games, but hell, I'll give it a try.
ReplyDeleteI'm in.
ReplyDeleteSo ready for this game! Make way evil! I'm armed to the teeth and packing a hamster!
ReplyDeleteTreasure piles! Yay
ReplyDeleteThans for having this giveway!
ReplyDeleteI still play Baldur's Gate!
ReplyDeleteComment!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the original BG, but subsequent Bioware RPGs haven't really recaptured the open-world feel of being able to explore the landscape for myself. Even BG2 felt too railroad-y at times. Hopefully this retro project will be at least a small step away from tight plot control and toward free exploration.
This is my comment.
ReplyDeleteNot a better giveaway to be found between Amn and Neverwinter. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI say please :-)
ReplyDeleteI say please :-)
ReplyDeleteGood luck everyone!
ReplyDeleteI, for one, certainly need more ways to waste time!
ReplyDeleteMaybe I can leave this unfinished, just like Dragon Age!
ReplyDeleteCommenting because I will own this one way or another and my wife would prefer this way.
ReplyDeleteWoohoo! Cool!
ReplyDeleteI just downloaded the original games last week. This is cool.
ReplyDeleteOh puhllleeeeassseee let it be me. This would be better than winning the lottery. Obviously i could buy lots of copies then but still aren't going to play better than the first one . Can't sleep. Getting jitters thinking about this. I'll name my first character Lucky and make him a leprechaun.
ReplyDeleteThis game looks awesome, toss it my way :)
ReplyDeleteProbably too late, but would love this!
ReplyDeleteput me in too if you haven't picked already
ReplyDeleteMayhap a key to these pillars, Tenkar?
