Kristin is Ken's on again, off again, on and I guess now off girlfriend. Remember the infamous photo of Ken in front of a cruise ship when all of his various Kickstarters went unfulfilled? Kristin was the woman at his side. She was one of Ken's staunchest defenders.
Now, read the line about the Amazon Card - "I find the minimum payment on the Amazon card he started for me while I was out of town has tripled and the amount owed has gone up 1,000$" - That's basic identity theft and felony Grand Larceny, Mr. Whitman. If Kristin doesn't press charges Amazon might be entitled to depending on the state. If Ken and Kristin now live in different states it may fall under federal jurisdiction.
Just think - some folks are up in arms about Ken scamming them for 30 bucks, or 300. This woman is out $30k.
Anyone, ANYONE who trusts this scoundrel in the future with anything of value, including one's own reputation, is putting it at risk.
As an aside, Ken was my inspiration for the Scoundrel class yesterday...

Venger Satanis (aka Derrick Dishaw) is indeed one weird dude. I've met him a couple of times since he's a local.

ReplyDeleteThe sad part is, he prides himself in it. He sees himself as clever doing what he does, but "impressive" "clever" are the opposite of what Ken is. There is nothing impressive about gaining the trust of friends, collegues and kickstarter backers only to steal from them, then run and hide like a coward. This guy is nothing more than a sociopath. He's good at playing the well meaning bumbling idiot who screws thing up unintentionally card, only because he actually is a bumbling idiot, except his crimes are intentional. There is nothing clever about gaining hardworking honest people's trust and then taking everything he can get from them. He's a failure at everything he's attempted in life, so hes has one more card left to play, the criminal card...and inevitably, he's failing at that too. All his actions are catching up to him. Things are in motion that he has no idea about. The end to his game is coming.

DeleteI've been spending some time re-reading Kristin's constant barrage of "Whitman defense posts" from when people were screeching about his KS antics. She gone from calling everyone "trolls" and "piranhas" to calling Kenny an "infamous lunatic." I thought I'd be enjoying some ice-cold schadenfreude, but now I just pity her.

DeleteIn her defense Ken is very good at deception. Regardless of what you think of him he has charisma and he always has a quick and ready answer anytime a lie is exposed. Which makes him a dangerous guy to do business with. I just started assuming at some point that anything Ken told me was a lie until proven otherwise. It really was my the only defense.
