Yes, You Can Pay Ken Whitman for the Privilege of Being in His Demo Reels (with equipment he previously claimed was sold)
Ah, Ken Whitman. He's a liar. No, he's a thief. Wait, he's a lying thief. How about scammer? Are we forgetting scammer? Shit. Okay, he's a lyingtheifscammer. Fuck, lets just call him a Scoundrel and be done with it.
What is Ken / Whit / Whitless latest scam?
Speed Reels
You to can participate at $100 an actor. No, that's not how much he is paying. It's what you pay him.
Oh, and the equipment pictured?
This was all purchased with the backer money from the KotDT: LAS Kickstarter. Yep, the same project he abandoned. The same equipment he claimed to have sold to pay off debts.
You can call him Whit or call him Ken, but in the end it doesn't matter. He's the Scoundrel your mother warned of. Sadly, so many ignore the warning.
Thanks to Jolly for bringing this to my attention.
As an aside, do any readers have connection in the Atlanta Film Community? They may want to warn those that may listen...

ReplyDeleteI think thats about all that *can* be said.
Wow.
This guy is like a bad cold, he just has no intention of EVER going away. When is someone going to throw this guy in jail already?
ReplyDeletePM'd my contacts thanks for the heads up.
ReplyDeleteI have no doubt he did sell that equipment, and I have no doubt somewhere is some poor sucker wondering when the equipment he paid for is going to receive it.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant!
DeleteI personally like the half-wall sawzall work there in the 2nd picture. I guess carpenter is another gig you can cross off the list.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I believe that this post also makes his comment about moving to Las Vegas a complete lie, as well.
ReplyDeleteThe acting career must be taking off just fine, huh Kenny?
Yes it is. So far been in Vampire Diaries (airing Feb 5), Walking Dead, Powers, Definatly! Divorcing, All Eyez on Me, Spartans, two commercials in Vegas, and at least 3 college films. So yeah, going pretty well.
DeleteAnd i do have a place I am staying in Kentucky, Vegas, Atlanta, LA, new Orleans , and FL. As an actor I have to do some traveling.
DeleteCool. Then you should have the money to refund my Traveller ship order, yes?
DeleteYou can get your ships directly from http://www.nobleknight.com at no charge.
Deleteawesome - stuff you sold to noble knight that should have gone to your backers is what you are offering your backers?
Deletenoble knight paid you AND your backers paid you - so you're doubling your money and either noble knight or your backers get screwed
that's basic math
I have been shipping Noble Night Games extra materials when i can afford too. After they complete the orders they will have enough inventory to make a profit. So...
DeleteThat's not the story Noble Knight tells.
DeleteAs they've never lied to me, not shipped a product, and haven't ran a half-dozen failed Kickstarters, I think I'll trust their words more than yours.
And it's 'Knight' - with a 'K'. Like 'K'en.
Where are you staying at in Florida? There's some mail that needs delivering and it would be nice where to sent it to as one can no longer reach you in Kentucky.
DeleteLooks like your IMDB listing needs an update for the new appearances.
DeleteJust leave the dude alone, he's got to learn his lines for the new indie student film he's in! He plays "Catamite #5" in a group scene near the end of the flick...
DeleteGuy's like a bad rash that won't go away. At least he doesn't seem to be preying in our waters (the gaming community) at the moment.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.

Our waters? lol
Posted by Ken Whitman to Tenkar's Tavern at January 17, 2016 at 9:35 PM
I deleted it because i thought it was not pithy enough, thanks for commenting on my ethics and then posting my deleted stuff. You ate the pot calling the kettle black.
DeleteA little googling picked these up if anyones interested
ReplyDeletehttps://www.stage32.com/whitwhitman
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm4452606/
Look everyone, I'm hiding in plain sight! Oh and my phone number is on my Facebook page an kickstarter, and it the same number I have had for 5 years. But no one wants to call me, just talk shit on line.
DeleteLet me get out my Whitman->English dictionary:
Delete"All these people are liars! I've delivered everything I ever promised on my Kickstarters and these people whom I've cheated are all just lying because they are jealous of my many successes! Wah!"
Ken: I'll call you, if you want, but I get to record our conversation and place it online for everyone to listen to.
I would ask specific targeted questions about your Kickstarters and what you are going to do to get to people the items you promised them.
How does that sound?
I'd be more than happy to host both the call and the transcript
DeleteI am willing to answer all your questions. The interview will cost $500. Otherwise, not worth my time.
Deletesure, we'll forward the money to noble knight who are already covering your debts.
Deleteyou sir, are a money pit.
Well as soon as I confirm Noble Nights has gotten it, then the call is on!
DeleteI would like to disclose that I (RunklePlaysGames) never paid for an interview with D@0 or Ken. I posted of his KS deletion and he replied on my blog.
DeleteI wasted no time and asked him for an interview and he said wonderful.
I'll do an interview AS Ken Whitless for $400. I'll even shave my head and gain 300 lbs to look the part. Cmon, it'll be funny. I'll promise a bunch of shit and tell eveyone they are crazy and talk about all the new movies I'm in, like Zombie #218 in a college film based on Walking Dead and Stormtrooper #43 in that indie film porn knockoff of Star Wars: The Force Awakens!
DeleteIt would be easier to talk to Kenny if he'd actually answer his phone.
DeleteUgh, again?
ReplyDeleteSo if you need to serve papers, that's a good starting point for a when and where...
ReplyDeleteWhy isn't this guy in jail? Really and seriously?
ReplyDeleteWhy isn't this guy in jail? Really and seriously?
ReplyDeleteBecause he has committed no crime that would put him in jail. Half of this shit on sites are made up, and I am using other peoples equipment in a studio I work at. So, keep assuming, because it makes an ass out of you.
DeleteI guess the Kentucky State Attorney General's interest, or all the people you've bilked out of thousands of dollars isn't criminal, just a big misunderstanding, huh?
DeleteAlex, I am still working on the projects. To commit a crime, one has to have the INTENT to defraud. My bills on each product far exceed the money taken in. They only thing I am guilty of is being an idiot and spending more then I made.
Deleteso, you weren't running the pencil dice Kickstarters to fund your film career and prior Kickstarters?
Deleteyou said as much in an interview - which violates Kickstarter terms (and isn't a crime but is damn scummy if you ask me)
I used my personal money to fund many Kickstarter projects, any moneys I used from one kickstarter to the next was paid to me for work i did on the previous kickstarter (i.e- edie editing, directing, etc. Paid positions. budgeted.)
DeleteSo reinvesting my own money.
not the way it works on Kickstarter and you know it.
Deleteyou intentionally misused funds from one Kickstarter for use on another
BTW, you obviously overpaid yourself
"you intentionally misused funds from one Kickstarter for use on another"
DeleteAnd you know this how?
Im afraid you saying it does not make this statement true. You have seen my financials? My tax returns for 2014 are $10,500 and for 2015 are $8,900. Now tell me how I overpaid myself good sir.
DeletePeople working at McDonalds make more then I do! So, please, kiss my ass.
DeleteWhen a project is successfully funded, the creator must complete the project and fulfill each reward. Once a creator has done so, they’ve satisfied their obligation to their backers.
DeleteThroughout the process, creators owe their backers a high standard of effort, honest communication, and a dedication to bringing the project to life. At the same time, backers must understand that when they back a project, they’re helping to create something new — not ordering something that already exists. There may be changes or delays, and there’s a chance something could happen that prevents the creator from being able to finish the project as promised.
If a creator is unable to complete their project and fulfill rewards, they’ve failed to live up to the basic obligations of this agreement. To right this, they must make every reasonable effort to find another way of bringing the project to the best possible conclusion for backers. A creator in this position has only remedied the situation and met their obligations to backers if:
they post an update that explains what work has been done, how funds were used (did you tell you Pencil Dice backers that the funds were never used for their product?), and what prevents them from finishing the project as planned;
they work diligently and in good faith to bring the project to the best possible conclusion in a timeframe that’s communicated to backers;
they’re able to demonstrate that they’ve used funds appropriately (as in, on the project backed and not some other project) and made every reasonable effort to complete the project as promised;
they’ve been honest (Ken, how many times have you said "books have shipped" "ships have shipped" "pencils were ordered", "the actors were paid" "I have everything at the release party reserved and paid for" "those coffee table books are limited to backers", and have made no material misrepresentations in their communication to backers; and
they offer to return any remaining funds to backers who have not received their reward (in proportion to the amounts pledged), or else explain how those funds will be used to complete the project in some alternate form.
The creator is solely responsible for fulfilling the promises made in their project. If they’re unable to satisfy the terms of this agreement, they may be subject to legal action by backers.
Ken, you being who and what you are does not excuse you for the lies. I think folks would be more forgiving of the incompetence of you business sense if you hadn't already muddied the waters with misdirections and stall tactics.
"Making Tv pilots and movies is my dream. So I have funneled in extra monies from pencil dice to keep editing & producing." - Ken Whitman
DeleteFrom http://runkleplaysgames.com/2015/06/04/interview-with-ken-whitman-of-d20-entertainment/
Because we all know that the Pencil Dice Kickstarter was fully fulfilled.
gee, how much did Ken charge for that interview?
Deletehis time is money, and my his own accounting, 500 bucks is 2 weeks work - that's gonna be one long interview
Never wrestle with a pig. You both get dirty, and the pig loves it.
Delete...and Ken finally posts an honest comment. He really is a pig.
DeleteGlad you admitted it, Ken.
You know what? When I go to McDonalds, those burger flippers actually complete my purchase in a timely manner.
DeleteStrange how that all works...
Well if a McDonalds worker got paid what I did they would quit and you would never get that burger. So... your argument is kind of stupid, cause Im still working on stuff no matter the cost to me.
Delete...and Ken finally posts an honest comment. He really is a pig.
DeleteGlad you admitted it, Ken.
LOL. You should be a stand up comedian for a living. Wait no. No you should not.
Ken, let's look at the facts. Let's set aside what anyone else says about you and just look at the facts.
Delete1. You claimed repeatedly that pencil dice were in production and being shipped. In actuality, they were never in production.
2. You claimed that not only were books being shipped, but that all but a few people had received them. None of those books were ever shipped or received.
This isn't people "making up crap." These are YOUR words, which can be viewed on your own Kickstarters.
How do you justify that? How do you justify it to yourself? You said things that were simply untrue, and you knew they were untrue.
That being the case, how can you expect people to trust your word? Would you, if you were in their shoes?
At least I'm not scamming people out of their Kickstarter money.
DeleteAmusing bio - "Whit Whitman has been performing locally in Kentucky for over 5 years. Know for playing intimidating bikers & comedic oaf, Whit recently relocated to Atlanta. Hell looks forward to meeting small puny mortals and impressing them with his size, acting talent, and ability to show up early! "
ReplyDeleteI love how on literally EVERYTHING he writes about himself that's intended to be professional, there's fucking typos. Lol This guy is hopeless.
DeleteAnd of course in 3rd person. What an oversized, bulging bag of fail.
DeleteI'm pretty sure Hell *is* looking forward to meeting him.
DeleteDid Kenny block me (again), or is the Facebook page for Ken Whitman & Associates gone?

"Out of here?" Another Ken Whitman(tm) lie!
A winter cruise sounds nice about now.
ReplyDeletedamn - if only I had a way to crowdfund such a trip...
DeleteIf I go on a cruise this year, just like last year, won't be on kickstarter money.
DeleteWait Ken, you already told us you haven't hardly made any money the last couple years. Less than a McDonalds employee if I remember correctly. So if you didn't use Kickstarter money for your cruise what money did you use? Or are you lying to us about how much you have made as well?
DeleteWoah, a drive-by Kenting! Just missed it I guess. I'll look for him as Zombie #52 in this season's Walking Dead!
ReplyDeleteA role that he is eminently suited for: brain dead, directionless, and a singular repeated line.
DeleteSo where are our KODT LAS Dvd's? They were supposed to be delivered 4 months ago. Let me guess... they're 'shipped'.
ReplyDeleteKen posting is like spotting a blue whale. Always unexpected and always awe inspiring. The enormity of it all. lol
ReplyDeleteAww
DeleteHey, Kenny-boy!
DeleteI'm glad you got some spare time to come here and enlighten us with your comments. You should take that free time when you aren't being a obnoxious, brainless, pile of flesh, or not playing a zombie, and do some work on your Kickstarters.
Also, please explain to us why you've been banned from starting new Kickstarters. Was it because your half-dozen or so scams were so successful?
Ken you have over 3500 backers who would LOVE for you to take a few seconds and check in on your six unfinished/all late kickstarter projects and let them know you are alive. They're starting to feel unloved.
DeleteFor some real world science explaining Ken's comment post eruptions, please enjoy the following video...

I think Ken actually believes his own crap. He truly believes that the only reason we are talking about him is that we are all jealous of his very success career in gaming, acting, business management, etc, etc.
ReplyDeleteIt's the only way he can keep his ego intact. If he ever thought - even for a second - that the people commenting on his failed Kickstarters had a point, or if he thought that he's completely screwed Jolly, or Marc Miller, or Troll Lord Games, or the guys at Noble Knight Games, his ego would collapse on itself like a dying star.
So, obviously - in Ken's mind - he has done no wrong, and we're just all talking 'shit on line.'
And proof below that this is true.
DeleteThanks, Ken. Now we know who you really are under that cuddle, loveable, goofy, exterior.
I will pitch in $10 towards KKG interview fund, with the contingency that Whitman holds a true interview. The money must go to KKG-solely, as Ken requested.
ReplyDeleteHe'd just take the money and not show up. Look at his track record.
ReplyDeleteNope, I would tell the real story of how stupid I was for trusting you without a contract. And how I spent 15k on hiring employees and infastructure to do KODT audio books only for you to say no after I told you I would not work with your wife after she cursed at me.
ReplyDeleteThat's about 9 months before the release date of KODT, the month you started attacking me on line. AND orginizing groups.
Basically shutting down all revenue for d20 to continental work.
You sir are the mastermind behind d20 going under, so why has Kenzerco not taken Ken Whitman to court.
Because the ugly truth will come out publicly and they don't want Jolly to look like the behind the sceans backstabbing asshole he is.
Ta-da.
Oh wait, jolly so cute and cuddly and awesome. Yeah right! Wait till his God fearing wife calls you a mother fucker.
RFLOL. Stay classy, Ken. I'll remind you I have two years of FB chat logs running from before your project began up to the point we stopped talking. Shall I post them publicly to let folks decide the truth here...? Hmmm?
DeleteI'd never share private conversations normally but if you keep up with this spin I might have to change my mind. You've been warned.
I suggest you read THROUGH that chat log, carefully Ken. It's all there.
DeleteAs for court - give me a good adress where you will be and win. 'kay?
DeleteI'll just post my wife's Open Letter to you here Ken. Just to balance things out. http://www.barbwryter.kodtweb.com/?p=753
DeleteI would be upset with your wife if she DIDN'T call him a motherfucker, Jolly.
DeleteBecause the guy's clearly a motherfucker.
Truth is she DID cuss him out in all caps via email. She would just never use that particular phrase.
DeleteAfter she found out he was telling the KODTLAS actors/crew the reason they weren't getting paid was because he was waiting for a check from Kenzer. Complete lie — money would NEVER flow in that direction and never did. She was so hurt and upset he had thrown her and the company under the bus (making all those people WE were the hold up on payment) she lost it - and deservedly so.
Only reason we found out about the lie is one of the actors contacted her privately to ask when she thought Ken might get his check. It was like a nuclear bomb going off. Should have heard those keys being pounded as she emailed him. lol
Ken's apology is in the chat log admitting what he did btw. Which surprises me how he's spinning it here or even bring him up.
Doesn't surprise me. He's said hurtful things about my dead daughter to me. So why not attack my wife.
Ken
DeleteClearly you are supplying the rope and The Tavern the gallows.
Would you like to make a plea for clemency from the gaming community or end this in silence?
(I know what's in the chat logs Jolly has referred to - I'd suggest silence)
Jolly is known as one of nicest people in the gaming industry. People have nothing but nice things to say about him. So when Ken, known as one of the shadiest, rudest and biggest liars of the industry says things about him... well we all know who to believe.
Delete"You sir are the mastermind behind d20 going under"
DeleteThats hilarious, Ken! You should be a stand up comedian for a living. Or an actor.
"My tax returns for 2014 are $10,500 and for 2015 are $8,900."
I said a living, Ken. I guess the acting jobs aren't going so well after all, huh?
well Ken since you're so chatty, perhaps you can answer some questions.
Deletethe goal for the KODT Kickstarter was $60k. you EXCEEDED that by nearly $10k. Why then is this not finished? you clearly had enough money for it. Or did you use money from this project elsewhere?
Why were you selling books that backers should have received as part of their pledge level to Noble Knight, who were then on selling them until they were informed that those books were supposed to be delivered to people already?
Speaking of this project, I still haven't received the following products which I was supposed to receive by no later than 31 August 2015 as per my backing level:
1) Blu Ray of the finished product along with a bloopers DVD
2) Larry Elmore poster of the movie cover
3) 10 screensavers from the comic and action series
4) a production diary from every single week of the shoot
5) a web screening following by Q&A with the actors
6) a high res download of the finished product (as opposed to the shambles you had available for us to download with poor audio and colours)
and why have you not given all the footage to ZOE as promised so they could clean it up for the final release?
oh and don't say this is all 100% KenzerCo's fault - YOU ran this kickstarter and YOU were the one who promised all this stuff. If there was a problem, if there weren't enough funds, YOU could have, at any time, told the fans and let them know there was a snag.
So far I have not received a single one the items I should have received at my pledge level. All I can do is assume you don't intend to deliver anything.
And don't write me off as 'one of the few complainers' either - because every one of your projects has people complaining about lack of delivery of product. Why are other projects, which you started before this one, also failing?
Oh hey, Pencil Dice Backer checking in here.
DeleteKen,
As per my pledge level I was to receive 36 Pencil Dice. You needed $1,000 to make this happen and you got $38,000.
I've seen, in your own words, how you spent my money on an unrelated project called Spinward Traveller. Yet, when I contacted you directly about that on your Facebook page you scrubbed the comment and blocked me.
You claimed my comment was "unrelated" since I asked about Pencil Dice under a promised Spinward Traveller update, but I see it being pretty closely related. I am apprently due Spinward Rewards since thats where my money went.
You are a crook and the lone person responsible for the failure of D20, RapidPod, Ken Whitman Games, and the numerous other ventures you have polluted. If that makes you feel sad or defensive then you can weep into the walls of the mental nest you have built yourself.
At the end of the day all anyone has asked is that you take an ounce of personal responsibility and show some humility. Failure is part of the process, but intentional deceit and fraud is criminal.
Your comments here make it all the more apparent you place NO real value in relationships and treat people like a commodity.
You don't have much of a future.
Sad thing about that Pencil Kickstarter is it was a no brainer. Take the funding, pay the printer. Set some aside for shipping/fulfillment. Count up the profits and keep on marching. He couldn't even do that. But wait — thats's somehow someone else's fault.
DeleteThanks for posting Tash and getting him back to point. Ken will show up here and attack his critics but he never addresses points like yours directly. Just like the Kickstarter comments page he avoids direct questions on specifics like the plague. Only time he had time for the backers was when he was asking them to open their wallets.
DeleteWhitman only wants to be interviewed by unethical journalists.
ReplyDeleteBecause no ethical journalist would pay him $500 to interview him.

DeleteWhat is really interesting to me reading through all this is 3 things.
ReplyDelete1) Ken made a lot of posts without actually posting anything at all about any progress on the KickStarters.
2) Ken asks why has not Jolly sued him and when Jolly asks for his address ... silence. If you really have done nothing wrong Ken post an address you can be reached for all to know. That would do volumes to answer your critics.
3) Ken wrote his great accusation to Kenzer/Jolly but then when Jolly responds and offer to publically post those actual conversations to everyone if Ken keeps talking ... magically Ken stops talking.
The projects have been a sad state to witness. And outside of here one of the most telling is Jolly offer on the KS to never talk about Ken online negatively ever again if ZOE would receive all the footage. An offer that I'm not sure many people in Jolly's situation would be willing to offer. And yet ... still not taken.
Ken ... if you wanted us to believe you are the victim ... you left a trail of carnage here with your posts that simply support the opposite to be true.
Ken Whitman is truly full of crap.
ReplyDeleteProof from the man himself.

And it appears Kenny's got hisself a brand-new demo reel posted on YouTube. I'm certain everyone would like to check it out:

That one was taken down. Heres the new one:

Comments are disabled on it. I wonder why...
Someone should really make a copy of one of those.. and post a nice parody video... Then it'll be stuck up there for awhile.. :)
DeleteAnd here's another Whit Whitman demo reel! Go check it out and let Kenny know whatcha think!
