+Craig Brasco did the scene you see above as an inside snapshot of
The Tavern. I think he caught
The Tavern Community's personality perfectly (including the annoyed person looking in from behind - sorry if we can't please all the people all the time ;)
Current plan is to use this excellent piece of work in regards to an announcement coming up this weekend. What announcement? Patience...
I'm so glad to consider Craig a good friend and a longtime member of my gaming group. I am blessed being surrounded by creatives much more talented than myself.
As an aside, I've identified each of the characters sitting at the table with my close circle of friends and it fits perfectly. Needless to say, I'm the dwarf :)
That's pretty fantastic.
ReplyDeleteExcellent!
ReplyDeleteHow willing would your friends be of having their PCs join Tenkar as occasional NPCs in my Greyhawk campaign? They can supply pseudonyms so as to protect their "real" PCs. :D
Each of them is a known personality in the OSR - if any can guess who is who, i WILL confirm correct guesses ;)
DeleteTenkar the dwarf (given), Dyson Logos as the elf with the map, Bill Webb as the human with the mug, no idea for the halfling, and Whit Whitman as the woman acting sour in the background.
DeleteI of 4 - you called me correctly ;)
ReplyDeleteBetter than rolling a 1!
DeleteThe halfling has to be James Spahn.
ReplyDeletethe table is now 2 for 4
DeleteWhat Mike called "an elf" doesn't have to be "an elf" btw...
I'm just gonna assume I got the scowler in the background correct. ;)
DeleteMy reputation precedes me.
DeleteI'm having real trouble coming up with the inspirational sources for the other 2. Of course, I get my 3 kids' names mixed up so... par for the course.
ReplyDeleteClearly the serving wench is Stacy. Fembot!
ReplyDeleteWe're only ID'ing the 4 at the table :)

ReplyDeleteAwesome artwork. A little bit of immortality. I was a art student in college in the late 80s and I did a drawing of my party's characters around a tavern table much like this. I visited one of the players a year ago (after 25 years) and he had it framed down in his basement where his kids play the same game. They looked at the illustration and at me and they were like, 'you're Brandobaras Briarfoot!' Now I look at yours and think, this is on the internet forever. Cool, dude.
ReplyDeleteYou are, but you can't pass up the chance to identify the pissed off serving wench.
