I like maps. I like mapping. My freehand map skills suck. Therefore, I have a fondness for mapping programs.
I REALLY like what I see with Dungeon Builder.
Heck, there's even a usable demo for Win, OSX and Linux.
What more can I say? The sample map should speak for itself.
Buy in for a Personal License is $45.
If you want to be able to use it for commercial work, its about $302 for the Indie License and $604 for the Professional License. What's the difference? Indie has revenue of approximately $75k a year or less, professional has not revenue limit.
Tempted to get the Indie License but may just wait for release.
There are a ton of support levels between Personal and Indie. Feel free to ignore them.
You should watch the video. So much awesome :)
Ohhh.... someone get this for me for my birthday! !
ReplyDeleteWow. That looks fantastic! I wish I had $300 bucks
ReplyDeleteSo tempted.
ReplyDeleteWhile I think isometric dungeon maps are cool and pretty they serve limited use since the DM is the only person looking at the map most of the time.
ReplyDeleteLooks nice. Seems a bit pricey when you can get Campaign Cartographer and the isomprphic add-ons for less without the profit restrictions, though.

ReplyDeleteLooks impressive. Glad you shared it otherwise I would have missed it. I backed the Hexographer 2 kickstarter and this would make a good companion to that, I think. And yeah, it is a bit pricey but if it turns out to be as good as it looks then it is worth the price. It also looks to have a much better interface than Campaign Cartographer, but again, will have to see how the final product turns out.
ReplyDeleteHey this is Alex Drummond the isometric dungeon artist. I dig this.

ReplyDeleteFor those who though $45 was too pricey during the KS campaign, note that it now costs between 59 euros and 779 euros!
ReplyDeleteHere's a MUCH cheaper alternative, currently on Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/battlegrounds/isometric-map-making
And it doesn't make ONLY isometric maps. It's also useful for battlemaps, hex-crawl maps, and editing Donjon-generated maps. Not to mention that it's full-color, not mostly B&W. Oh, and Alex Drummond's wonderful work will be made available for it, if the campaign funds.
