Wait, that was Apex Tech.
I'm looking to put together a list of Old School Gaming Friendly Conventions. Big, small, regional or what not.
Some of you have already been sending in suggestions, but please, repost them in the comments below.
What we need:
- Name of the Convention
- Dates the Convention is running
- City and State it is located in
- Website for the convention
The plan is twofold:
- The Tavern will put up a post listing all said conventions with info provided
- There will be a link list of conventions on the left sidebar of The Tavern
I'll make a post at the beginning of each month with an updated list of conventions and a call to add what is missing.
Note - "Old School Gaming Friendly" is simply that. A convention that is 90% VtM or LARPing doesn't really qualify. It does not need to be dedicated to Old School Gaming to the extent that NTRPG or Gary Con is.

While the convention isn't exclusively for old school games, I would definitely categorize it as old school gaming friendly. Last year, they offered games of Bunnies & Burrows, Call of Cthulhu, AD&D, Dungeon Crawl Classics, Gamma World, GURPS, Lamentations of the Flame Princess, and Tunnels & Trolls. For a convention of its size, I was happy with the variety of old school games (and old school inspired games).

They run a pretty well-attended OSR track. They also have a G+ community: U-Con Gaming Convention

Small con founded by a couple of guys who bought their OD&D sets from Gary at GenCon back in the day. Games range from the gamut from hex-and-chit and minis games to Euro boardy stuff to Pathfinder to Magic the Gathering. I played AD&D1 and the old Dragon magazine game Search for the Emperor's Treasure at the last Winter War.

They have an official "THACO Thursday" devoted to old-school games. They have a smattering of old school games the other days too. I've played LL, DCC and S&W there.

This is a small local con at Western MI Univ. It draws the OSR crowd from across the state. It's my local con. It had an official OSR track 3 years ago. It has maintained a strong OSR presence. I ran my first convention game here (AD&D), and was introduced to DCC. Games: AD&D, DCC, S&W, White Star, and any game we can get someone to run.
Great idea! BTW, a convention that is 90% Vampire: the Masquerade would be both old school (still AD&D 2nd edition era) and totally awesome!

Small, local, chill - we hope to hit 200 people this year. Solid old-school representation (AD&D, DCC, AS&SH, etc). Last year Zeb Cook attended and ran AD&D, it was awesome.

Ed Greenwood has been there in the pasr and James Maliszewski will be there again this year.
There is The Gaming Association of Southwestern Pennsylvania Convention (GASP Con). However they seem to be having difficulty finding a place to host it the past two years, since the Monroeville Convention center kicked them out due to the celebrity infested Steel City Convention of which I will no longer attend, until they let GASP and others hold shows there as well.
