Remember earlier in the week? #ConManKen was trying to hock some Walking Dead memorabilia with some Certificate of Authenticity that raised some warning bells among readers.
Here's the #ConManKen CoA:
And here's the response PSA (the company logo in the lower left corner of the suspicious CoA):
BTW Kenny Boy, how did your diagnosis go? You know, the one where you need to be deceased before they can actually perform it?
August 1st seems like a lifetime ago. So many broken promises Ken. Its almost like you don't care.
Well, beware of another first Kenny. All bills come due at some point and the collection process will be most painful. But hey, you're used to living in your store's stockroom so any other accommodations should be an improvement.
Three hots and a cot, Kenny. Three hots and a cot.

So if Marcus King still owns this store (as Ken is making payments on it to him) ... I know Marcus is a big supporter of Ken and I fully understand and appreciate his reasons ... but I would have to believe that fake COAs in a shop that is still his own he books would be something he would not stand for. At least I hope this would be really upsetting for someone who sells collectibles for a living and has his name on the deed to the property.
ReplyDeleteBirds of a feather. And in it together.

Coffee. Coffee everywhere. You own me a new keyboard, Erik.
I aim to please ;)
DeleteI have actually backed projects that I regret more than backing our boy Ken. (Well, at least one, definitely.) At least his antics provide some entertainment value, the others I just got to see the deduction from my account.
ReplyDeleteseems like this is more than just kickstarter fraud. 'intertsate?'
ReplyDeleteI wonder if anyone has brought this to AMCs attention. I'm sure their legal department could clear this situation up quickly enough.
ReplyDeleteI have, though I encourage more people to do so.

The problem is that ken will claim he got this from someone else who got this from someone else and OF COURSE he wouldn't know this was fake after all Ken is a simple man who runs a store he has to TRUST someone who sold to him and he will NEVER do it again.
ReplyDeleteI hear the story wheels spinning already.
PS: Kenny Boy. You can send me some pencildice instead of crediting me for giving you an excuse. I'd appreciate that.
That would simply throw everything else he has under suspicion, right? Why would you ever trust the word of a collector that can't verify a CoA?
