Last night as
+James Spahn and I were talking about things related to
Swords & Wizardry it suddenly struck me - each entry for
Swords & Wizardry Monstrosities (currently only in PDF at the FGG store) has an event or encounter linked to it. What if we (James & I) were to do a regular posting (weekly? bi-weekly?) expanding upon some of those encounters, turning a "one and done" to a full night's adventuring?
Yeah, I get ideas like that on occasions.
The great thing about the
Monstrosities book is that the content is 100% OGL, including the encounters.
It is in the brainstorming process thus far. No idea when the first post will come, but if you have ideas for creatures you'd like to see in the mix, drop a comment below and we'll see what we can do.
Sounds like something I'd certainly read.
ReplyDeleteI've got an idea, how about FGG does a kickstarter for the second printing of Monstrosities so this lowly grognoob can get one. But yeah, I'd read that.

DeleteVery Tome of Lairs of you. Interesting idea though and I’d peak
ReplyDeleteThat would be a fantastic idea. Monstrosities' mini-lair/encounter ideas for each creature was one of the more innovative concepts it introduced to a Monster Manual format.
ReplyDeleteMy only gripe about Monstrosities is the formatting and layout. Many entries have 3/4 of a page blank space.
ReplyDeleteYou could headshed that as a feature of your Hero's Brew thing as a recurring feature.
ReplyDeleteI love Monstrosities, but you have to chuckle at the Mostly Harmless short shrift in some entries (Kobolds: 'are subterranean, vaguely goblin-like humanoids').
