At the moment I'm playing with Inkarnate. Next, I'll play with Wonderdraft. I have both apps with licenses that allow for commercial maps.
I'll probably go through a few false starts before I settle on something that really talks to me.
The above is about an hour worth of doodling :)

You can create some nice work with Inkarnate, however I was put off by the "joint ownwership" of any creations even with the commercial version.
