Yep, as you may have noticed, Free RPG Day was pushed back this year. Normally held in June, this year, due to the pandemic, it was moved to October.
ENWorld has a surprisingly complete overview of what is available. As usual, the OSR relevant or adjacent are minimal.
Tomb of the Savage Kings for Dungeon Crawl Classics (DCC RPG), a level 2 adventure designed by Stephen Newton.
Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Soulbound: Reap and Sow gives an introductory adventure for players interested in visiting the Mortal Realms in Soulbound. Great for Age of Sigmar fans.
Do keep refreshing to see what DTRPG has for free each day during the October sale, however.
ReplyDeleteOur FLGS decided not to do the event this year, not because of COVID but because the owner didn't think it was worth the cost and effort. Between that, an effectively permanent end to me doing in-store gaming (he's moving all that to another location that isn't accessible via public transit) and the near-uselessness of the distribution system I'm really asking myself why I should support the store at all any more.
ReplyDeleteWhen hobby stores that carry a large amount of RPGs go under, I hope some OSR entrepreneurs will take the bull by the horns.
DeleteIIRC the stores order the boxes of free RPG day goodies at a very reduced price to give away as a promotion. Unfortunately I have seen stores in the past selling the contents.
ReplyDeleteOne Uk based store I went to a few years ago demanded that you purchase a product before you could claim any of the products available.
