The original Traveller was my first "hard science" RPG. I started with the Traveller Starter Boxed Set, which was really the 3 LBBs repackaged into a single book. I ran a handful of adventures but spent many an hour turning character generation into a game of its own.
Mongoose Traveller Explorations is currently up at Bundle of Holding. It uses the rules for Mongoose Traveller 2e (currently updated in 2022) and is as current as you can get.
